Bishop Rofaieel cancels withdrawal of his candidacy for the Papal seat

Bishop Rofaieel requested to withdraw his candidacy from the Papal election process earlier this week only to cancel his withdrawal later. He never submitted a formal request to the nominations committee, rather his request was an unofficial one.

Under pressure from many members of the Holy Synod to remain a candidate, he submitted to their wish and decided to remain a candidate. Amongst those who are encouraging him to stay is Bishop Moussa, bishop of youth in Egypt.

The number of bishops that are candidates at this time is six and the total number of candidates including monks is 16.
