How and when did CopticWorld.org start?

-In 2007 the ideas was presented to Pope Shenouda III by Bishhop David and Fr Anastasi (St Anthony's Monastery, CA). His Holiness gave the project his blessings for implementation. The account for the project was set up in St Anthony's Monastery. A team of many youth began working to present this idea in as many churches as  possible in the United States. Bishop Youssef and Bishop Serapion were notified of the project at this time. The money raised was used to build the project. Phase I of IV has now been completed.

Is CopticWorld.org just another Facebook?

-No. Facebook is centered on the individual, CopticWorld.org is centered on the community board of the local, national and international church of which a member is a part. Facebook doesnt count our people, CopticWorld.org does. Facebook doesnt allow us to harness the energy that comes from the number of Coptic members they have, CopticWorld.org allows the clergy to do so. Facebook doesnt allow our clergy to reach thier congregation with the click of a button, CopticWorld.org does. Facebook doesnt allow bishops or the papal account to reach their entire diocese or the entire world respectively with the click of a button, CopticWorld.org does. The differences go on and on and they will become clear to you as you use the site.
