A source for the Free Christian Voice confirmed that hundreds of Copts are partaking in a sit in in front of the police department in Nagi Hamadi in the province of Qena in protest of the two Copts that were killed today.
A muslim thug named Ahmad Saber has been terrorizing the Copts in the village for months imposing his own taxes on them and threatening to kill those who don't pay. He has delivered on several of these threats in the past three months by killing Copts who refused to pay. Today, he killed a Coptic man and his son after they refused to pay.
The two victims were visited by gang members working with Ahmad Saber in their ceramics store while Mr Saber waited outside in a private car. They told the father that a customer was waiting to speak to them outside concerning a prior purchase. The father asked that the customer come in the store as he nor his son will go outside to meet him. The men were killed for their lack of cooperation.
Demonstrators said they will continue to sit in front of the police department until the arrest of Ahmad Saber. Many are frustrated with the complacency of security forces in the face of continued threats from this thug. Many suspect, although this is unconfirmed, that the money collected by this thug and his men is often shared with the police in return for their inaction to protect the Coptic citizens of the village.
