Beloved Sydney Servant Departs in Her Sleep

Today, a great servant of the Coptic Orthodox Church was chosen by our Lord. Mirna Aziz Awad, just 27 years old, departed from this world earlier today in Sydney during her sleep.

Mirna was a beloved servant at The Apostles and St Abanoub Church in Blacktown, Sydney Australia. Mirna was also known for her service at St Mary and St John the Beloved in Wagga Wagga where she completed her studies. Mirna was loved by many youth across the Sydney diocese and was also well known to many members of the Australian Coptic Movement.

Hundreds of youth and members of the community attended a prayer service earlier this evening at her local church in Blacktown. CopticWorld conveys its sincere condolences to Mirna's husband, Paul Awad, her parents Mr Said Aziz and Mrs Antoinette (Lolla) Aziz, and her brother Jason Aziz.

If you would like to share your thoughts and prayers with the family and the many youth who were touched by Mirna, please feel free to post to The Apostles and St Abanoub Church community board on CopticWorld at:

May god rest her soul in heaven, and may you pray for us. I pray that god give peace to all the family through this time.
